Cuba: The Classic Vintage Cars #1: Red…

There are approximately 60,000 “old cars” in Cuba. Most are put together using spare parts that the owners have made out of old car parts, sheet metal and anything else that they can possibly use to keep the cars in running condition. Many of these cars are used as taxis and some can be rented for the day/week.

I was excited about the opportunity to be able to shoot these cars. Opportunities to do so were everywhere. There are many images in my Cuba portfolio of these cars. Way too many to post on my blog, so I decided to start by showing these classic cars that were painted red (or red-orange). Why not? It is a communist nation isn’t it?
