Inner-Harbor Boat Tour of New York/New Jersey …

Recently,  Eileen and I, along with some of our photographer friends, took the “Hidden Harbor Tour” of New York and New Jersey’s inner-harbor.

The Inner Harbor Tour  started from the South Street Seaport and passed by the Red Hook Container Terminal…

Our boat then entered Kill Van Kull, the area’s busiest waterway dividing Staten Island and Bayonne,

and marine repair facilities.

It then passed under the Bayonne Bridge

and sailed near the giant container ports of Newark Bay, Port Newark and Port Elizabeth where the world’s largest container ships tie up…

We observed the dredging of the harbor as larger container ships will need greater depth in the harbor…

On the way back, the moon was kind enough to rise, and I was able to get off a few shots…

  1. I think my faves are the abandoned terminal and the NJ oil tanks (great light)
but they’re all wonderful. I’m beginning to think: why go anywhere when I can
just stay home & enjoy your blogs? (But I just did take a great trip to Boston with my grandson).
